Anyone know the reliability of these cars. Looking at one a lady has down the street from me for a crappy little gas saver. Has about 142k 5 speed only asking 800 looks pretty straight.

I knew one woman who had one that was somewhere around a '98. It seemed to be ok except that she kept having alternator problems with it. Her boyfriend had to replace it about every 5 or 6 months. Maybe they weren't buying the right one for it? I'm not sure.

buddy of mine had one, the 5 speed transmission exploded and scattered parts all over the road right there in front of the dairy queen when we were younger. That's not to scare you, he drove it in an abusive rage for many many miles before that happened :lol:

For 800 bucks, if it runs and drives good id say go for it!

The lady called me and said she is thinking about keeping it now and she would let me know in a few days. Of course...

Ah that's a bummer. I've heard the same...Failed manual transmissions. I picked up a 97 Integra. Love that car. 155k, 5 speed, original owner. $500 from coworker's mom.
