I am in the market for a zero turn rider. I am looking at a John Deere 920m 54" deck. $8600 out the door. Also looking at a couple of the Gravely models Pro Turn 52" deck $6799. Pro Turn 100 series 48" deck $7299 and Pro Turn 200 series 52" deck $9799. I looked at some Toros and was not to impressed. My buddy has a Farris and is nice, but no longer a dealer in the area. Any insight is appreciated.

Scag or exmark imo.

I saw an exmark with the toros. Seemed the same. The Gravely and John Deere seem to look heavier duty.

Test drive if possible. Go with the place that you have the best dealer relationship/ stand behind their product.

Ferris,,how are you gonna beat having suspension? Alternative? A Bad Boy is one heck of a machine, and are $4999 at TSC. Sometimes you can get a 10% off coupon, and they want to move them this time of year..

See if there is a Hustler dealer by you. They invented the zero turn and make an awesome machine. I have had mine for 6 years with nothing but basic maintenance.

Forgot about them, I've been bugging my parents to buy a raptor. Tired of fixing old wheelhorses every week lol. Grasshopper is supposed to be good as well. Ferris is 50 mins away from my house. I've fixed up 3 abused exmarks. Have an 04 Lazer z I bought not running that's the main mower now.

Get a tow behind instead. One more reason to ride your three-wheeler :)

Grasshopper....best.mower.ever.

Looks like there are 3 dealers within 50 miles of me. I will check those out.

Grasshopper....best.mower.ever.

Grass Hopper is very prevalent down here in the south. Probably 3-1 those over everything else. Never hear anything bad about them.

I have about 100 hours on my Bad Boy and it has not missed a beat. It has a 60" deck and you can get one out the door around 5K. That is fine for me and my little 2 acre plot. All the guys I know that do this for a living swear by Ferris. After talking to the guys in the grass cutting business, you definitely need to take a long hard look at Ferris products. I don't know the model number, but all the ones I see seem to have a 61" deck for whatever reason.

Kubota makes some nice ones too! My grandfather has owned one for about 10 years without any problems. I've used it on several occasions. Worth mentioning.

Careful with the Kubota, seen a bunch with drive motor issues.

If its any further help all the municipals around here run Hustler and if they can't kill them they must be pretty tough.

Came home with this today. I ended up with the Gravely Pro Turn 252. 52" deck. Out the door $8600. That is about a $1200 discount than I was previously quoted. It is a 2016 model, same as 2017. Had .5 hours on it when I picked it up. Just got done putting 2 more hours on it. Went through the field nicely. Way better than my John Deere rider. So comfortable. I did have to go over some spots a few times. Very nice finish cut mower. Although I do have to use the big Deere with the brush hog first. My grass is 4' in most places in my field. 6'-7' tall at the drain field. We must have good trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro. Lol. Here are some pics. Also will get a line up of my mowers for you guys too.243544243545243546

Yes I am happy. 100x smoother ride than my small rider. Although I would have to say I could not have done it without the Big Deere!!243552

When I worked for the Parks and Recreation department of a 30k citizen city in 04-06, Ferris is all we used besides a Ransomes wing deck mower. We never had an issue with a Ferris when I worked there and they were used almost everyday from March to October.
