I have an 84 Big Red and I was working on it a month ago but stopped and Leeds the better tender on (new battery as of January 2017) but somebody unplugged it and left the clips on the terminals and New when I went to give it a start it just makes a click near the battery but I know the thing runs cause I pop started it yesterday for like 2 seconds but the weird thing is the neutral/reverse light come on and so does the headlight but it seems like it doesn't have enough juice to turn over? I plugged the battery tender in and it turns to green in about 1 hour but goes red after one press of the starter button (and the stupid click sound) so I'm stumped here

Sounds like it has a bad cell.
Everything looks great with low power draw (like indicator lights) but hi-draw stuff like starter motors wipe it out.

Check the water levels if it's a serviceable battery.
Get it load tested if possible.
Verify starter and subsystem is OK

It's hard on batteries to be stored "Dead".

Sounds like that battery is done, though.

You probably need a new one.
