Welcome to the forum. I just bought a new sprocket for mine, the OEM one is 42 tooth sprocket ... there are a few on ebay ... I bought an aftermarket one ... http://www.ebay.com/itm/42-Tooth-Rear-Steel-Sprocket-42T-1983-1984-Honda-ATC250R-All-Terrain-Cycle/292200282456?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649

The sprocket hub on your 83 looks like maybe it's off of an 82? That's kinda what it looks like. Perhaps someone with an 82R could confirm.

I apologise, having a closer look your hub have 6 holes, none of the 250R's had a 6 hole sprocket hubs, all have 4 ... yamaha use 6 hole sprockets ....

That's an 84-85 Tecate rear axle and disc. Order a 42 tooth Tecate rear sprocket. 246346
