I have a 86 350x that won't start..(thinking it needs a top end) I want to make it a hot rod. I don't really know my options.. any advice would be greatly appreciated...

what exactly do you mean by hot rod?

a big bore kit is the easiest and cheapest but you will need to improve head flow to get the most out of the bigger displacement.

bigger carb, bigger cam, aftermarket pipe (it will be loud), stiffer clutch springs etc. I would also use an mls head gasket from cometic.

good oil and bigger or additional oil cooler.

I have 3 stages of kits, std- .040 11.5:1 over bore with stage 1 cam , valve and clutch springs that run on pump gas. My .080 over 14:1 stage 2 cam, valve and clutch springs, then our 502cc 11.5:1 stage 2 cam, valve springs and monster clutch springs. I also have 3 stages of port & flow and big valve CNC ported heads, custom pipes 400ex carb kit or 450r carb kit for the 502 kit. also a hirev CDI with a different timing since the stock one retards at 6500rpms. And HD rod and crank ballancing.
