I'm thinking I need to replace the rear bearing on the drum brake side on my 84 Honda 200es Big Red. At a certain point(s) while the tire tire is turning, I can hear a creaking noise coming from that side. I've been getting a list of items together I need to complete the job and the bearing for the side has me a little miffed...the OEM bearing is very expensive. Could someone please point me in the direction of a good non-OEM bearing for the drum brake side? The OEM Honda part number is 91053-969-003. Thanks

Bearing number is 6909-2RS. SKF is a good quality bearing in my opinion.

I just looked and from what I saw that bearing is discontinued from Honda, correct? That's probably why it's so expensive. I'd get the numbers off the bearing then try to order a reputable replacement, assuming one exists. It's very likely there are aftermarket options though. Do you have a bearing or drive shaft shop near you? There's a bearing shop near me and if I bring something in there I either leave there with what I need or it simply doesn't exist.

I checked on the "All Balls" site and they list a 84 200es rear bearing kit part # 25-1365 for $40.61 and in stock.

Thanks for the help! I ordered an aftermarket set I found on eBay... hopefully they're not junk (they're made in Japan).

Thanks for the info. Question: how did you stumble upon that bearing/know it was a match?
