Ok my sled stalled one day and wouldnt start. I thought it was something simple, but I was wrong, it has no compression on the left cylinder. I know this could be a hole in the piston, or the rings are shot. Any other ideas of what could be wrong?

id be willing to bet you melted a hole in the piston. i did that twice on my 85 yamaha 440 SS if this is true id also be willing to bet you have an air leak some ware that needs to be taken care of.

Usually the crank seal goes bad on the pto (clutch) side and lean siezes that piston or rings.

I had a sled once that had a melted piston, it would run until it was warm, they would die and not start until it got cold. Could the head gasket be messed up?

like said before i will put money down that its a bad crank seal making it run lean. my 85 440 SS did the same exact thing
