Polaris 2 stroke good compression and timing is on and he's spark the carb is clean will backfire and that's it even on starting fluid any thoughts it's got me going in circles

Yes the woodruff key is in good shape

I checked with a tester and had 115

What is the model? That sounds low.

250 polaris I think it should be around135 or so but it just had new rings put in

If piston was good and has new rings I think it should read WAY more than 115.

I have seen lots of no start backfire with starter fluid symptoms be low compression.
