Besides zip ties, what is the best way to fiz sagging plastics? The rear plastics on my 250r have a nice crack in them and I want to fix them.
What is the best way to do this? Should I buy a plastics welder ?

I think you should take a piece of metal along the entire back of the fender on the bottom and fasten the plastic to it.

Replacing them is always the best way. A new fender from Maier is only $94 through Dennis Kirk.

I want to point out something real quick. That plastic looks cracked for a long while now, so when you do go to fix it, it wont be fun. The plastic has a tendency to warp to a comfortable position. So when you line the crack up it will fight you to line up correctly.....But it can be done. I heard the plastic weld works good but have never tried it. I used a glue called Polyeurythene (made by elmers). It is located at your home improvement with your other wood, metal or whatever glues out there. It works on plastics. You can sand it down after wards to flush with the plastics, but unless you paint it will always show. The glue takes a very long time to dry. You could probably paint, sand, and "fix" your plastics for oh about $30 monetary $70 your time (depending how much you charge yourself, this is incredibly time consuming)...Or replace new...Sometimes you have to fix what you have sometimes you dont.
Oh yeah I forgot, dont spill that glue on anything you want to keep clean or whatever.....once dry, the only way it removes itsself is sanding.

Do you mean, POLYURETHANE ????????????
I may try some of that for some small cracked pieces I have.
Cracks in large pieces of unsupported plastic like that are tough to fix with out supporting it some how. especially if you are trying to glue it. The best luck I've had is fixing them with the "Frankenstein Method" of stitching them together because the ZIP ties support the crack. I've also heard of guys using heavy test fishing line for a better look.
Best bet is to get a new or used fender that's not cracked, instead of a plastic welder. There's a chance you could ruin the fender or make it look ALLOT worse learning to weld plastic. Then your out the cost of the welder and a new fender so you'll be happy with your ride.

i have used it on fiberglass but i bet this would work on plastic.
scuff up the area around it and use JB Weld. for extra support you could put a small piece of wood metal or scrap plastic on the bottom side and JB Weld that in place also. if you put it in some type of clamp to set in place the JB Weld will probably work very well.

How   !!Oh well next time I will drink more coffee before I try to spell LOL
It works really well I think for those fenders basically for beating the crud out of. I have a pict somewhere..I will find it and post it.
Update.....here is a before and after pict of the fenders that I "glued". Now I did a quickie job of these and did not spend any real amount of time on em, I was experimenting. One side you could hardly see the crack at all, the other had warped and shows up real well in this pict. I think if I had worked harder I could have hid the cracks even better. But this so you all can get an idea...
