So I picked this 84 250R up for cheap a couple weeks ago. Started first kick and ran great. The owner told me it had no second gear. Long story short, I pulled the motor and split it to see what was going on in the transmission. Some worn forks, shift drum, and some worn shift dogs and the trans is back in business. Since I already had it apart, I did crank bearings and seals. My question for you guys is this. On the PTO end of the crank there is a seal spacer and o-ring. The seal spacer has a groove cut into it for the o-ring to sit in. Does the o-ring go on the crank first and the seal spacer goes on next? I wasn't paying close enough attention to that when I took it apart and just want to double check with you guys before I assume which is the proper way to put it back in. I assume the o-ring slides on and then the spacer with the o-ring boss goes on next. Any advice guys?
