Hi all, I’m just starting a new thread so not to muck up jeswineharts great repop thread. So i figured it’s about time I did.

Ok, well i was able to do one shell today it has two “very” small air bubbles but I’m good with the color. I circled the bubbles by editing my pics (didn’t draw on the shell itself.
I’ll probably just end up doing these in small batches 2-3 times a year (time is hard to find these days) but feel free to ask for one if wanted/needed anytime, just may need to be patient. Pretty sure there won’t be a mad rush for these but knowing there available may help out a few of you.
Cost will depend on if there’s small blemishes or not but will do my best. I can do different colors too (not black at this time though) that’s a tough one.
Alright I guess that’s it, here is the red one that I did today (already sold):beer

Great work Shep. Absolutely put me down for a red one, no rush, just PM me the payment info and timing. Much appreciated since these are near impossible to find. I have an OE one, but it has a few small cracks, so I've been running a white 86 R Maier bezel, which looks good as well.
Thanks,
Kevin

I wouldn't worry about small imperfections. My Maier fenders have some small dimples in them, no big deal. Have you made any of the fuel tank guards? Those are impossible to find.

Yes I’ve got a few of those, they are (guessing) 10% softer rubber than oem though. The next level of rubber would have been to hard I think. But seem fine, do you need a couple or ten- lol 252042 just excuse the dust on them.
I’ll probably put them in the classified section on Thursday thinking like $10+2 shipping for a pair, I have no idea....

Yep I need a set. I'd take 4, just as backup. Shoot me what you want for them and how to pay .

That was the Maier one I was going to get at some point down the road then all of a sudden a tank turned into an awesome repop.......Thanks again - was such a nice gesture!
I can't wait to see a new thread from Shep down the road on that project!

Well, all the work involved to get a green headlight shell and personally I don’t like it. Fork boots have to go also.
This shell had one 1/8” deep non fill area right where the rubber strap attaches so I moved the mounting hole forward the same amount so the strength would still be there. A minute or two of dremel work it’s good to go:cool:

I’m actually starting at a low cost-40+shipping with slight air bubbles (tiny) of sorts but unless your picky are fine.
or 70 plus shipping for better condition ones. Probably not going to do any more until this Wednesday though, I have to do them when kids and wife aren’t home/ everything goes much better then.

Shep
Edit - I wasn’t planning on making very many before trikefest/like everyone else there’s lots to do before then. But we’ll
see what happens.

Edit once more:p
I’ve got about 15 people on a list- should have 4or 5 of those shells done by thurs I will be in touch if yours is one of those

Thanks Kevin, I had it in my mind three days ago that we weren’t going (too much to do) this yr but I said that to Jaime (wife) she was a bit upset......she pushed we are going cuz it’s a Father’s Day thing and the 16th is our anniversary so yup she won. Now I gotta put extra long days in to be ready. It’ll be worth it, just wish I was already there. Have to get me some biscuits and gravy from haspin snack bar “yummy”

Last Friday’s- 12hour run, well about 20mins prep/pour with about 1-1/2 hr demold time (each). I wanted to try a clear one but ran out of mix/ until next batch. I added a couple more vents in the mold to realease trapped air, only one has a very small void on an edge. Two or three of these will be for sale on this site(when done). The wife’s putting one on eBay, others are already sold to good folks on 3ww. Now I have to drill them;).

Thanks for looking
One of the shells sales will be donated to swineharts wife’s account (if that’s ok) I know that info is on 3ww

I know there’s a atleast two shells out there that weren’t prepped/drilled by me, I just wanted to post the tools I use to help those two shells-

15/64 drill bit for pins
3/8 for glass mounting (two rear of glass)
7/16 for outer hole
A dremel cutter bit about 3/8 round cutter end

Drill holes/ I start with a power drill (low speed) and finish by twisting bit by hand cuts fast w/sharp bit
Outer hole 7/16 bit doesn’t go all the way through (leave about 1/8 plastic so pins lock in)
15/64 I start with this- drill straight through carefully (pin shaft size)

The dremel bit I lock it at bottom of 7/16 cut/spin around hole (shaft won’t let it cut deeper than needed)
Reset dremel saw in thickness of blade/push into tool so now u have a wider groove for rubber strap piece that pushes in

Hope this helps and makes sense.....
I won’t sell anymore without prepping first, it’s not easy. But doable

I’ve got a good one put aside for you.....
I just have to drill it though, prob this wk end.

Work should slow down around/before x-mas and I’ll probably do a double batch this time. Already have about 6/7 people that want em. Just need time and will have more when winter gets here- been a non-stop year work wise. I need a vacation.

Awesome...no rush. I was thinking of selling the 200X and just keeping the 250R, but decided to keep both...hard to sell them after you've put so much time and money into re-storing them...lol. Plus there is always a lot of interest but everybody wants them for a steal.

Hey Shep, did you get around to drilling that shell out or making another batch? Just touching base, I sorta forgot about it and haven't really messed with either of my trikes for the last couple months.
Thanks,

Sorry guy, no I haven’t yet- I still have yours and another one here promised out. I have to pour another mold in the next couple wks for something else, that’ll get me motivated into the plastics again. I’ll try to get it done on Sunday (gotta work Saturday).

I hear ya. It's tough during the winter to get going on projects. I broke my ice scraper this morning scraping ice off my car windows...lol. I have a one car detached garage and haven't gotten my 250R and 200X maneuvered around so I can get my car in. I also need to move some stuff out to my shed, but when it's 18 degrees out...yep, not gonna happen.

Ya winters tough-looks like I’ll have work just about until spring this yr. I usually have about 6-wks off for projects but paying jobs are nice too.....
I started my first inside job yesterday. 6-wks maybe longer depending on “extras” gutting two rooms remove old horse hair plaster then a layer of 20-30yr old board.
Re plaster and trim out- also rebuild a stairway.
Nasty job but it’s inside and warm. Lots of critter skeletons though
