I know this question has been posted before and maybe on more than one occasion but it never seems to get a concise agreement on what is the best replacement caliper. I picked up three 2nd gen 250rs as basket cases and am putting two of them together but just as other people have ran into I am missing the REAR brake caliper on all of them. I have no idea what thief decided to go steal all the 250r calipers but they got a lot of them :wondering

Anyway, I have seen/heard many different things with people saying they THINK all kinds of different calipers will work but nobody ever replies saying which they used or tried to use and what did or didn't work. The ones that always come up are the kx85 front, cr80 85 front, crf 150 front, 200x front/rear calipers. The only person who seemed to give a direct answer said 02-06 kx85 rear calipers are a perfect fit but they didn't have much of a post history and nobody said anything else about that caliper working.

Has anyone seen any other calipers used and if so which one? I have just been seeing a lot of different things and I really need to order something soon so I can get my bikes finished up! Thanks in advance for any help!!!

They look to run about $80-$100 so before I go buying I may dig around a little more for the correct rear caliper first but just looking it seems like that isn't near as hard to find! Thanks a lot!

Also, after what atc300r had told me I did a little digging and found this post: http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php/65970-brake-caliper-swaps-for-83-85-200x-s

Jason in that post said "walla a 2000 kx 80 rear caliper bolts rite up to the front mounting bracket that attaches to the fork" on his 85 200x, so IN THEORY if I can find a cheap kx 80 rear caliper which bolts up to the front of a 200x then it should also work for the rear on my 250r!

Im going to look for a cheap one on ebay to test out and I'll post here if it works out alright! Thanks for your help!
