http://www.3wheelerworld.com/oldsite/1982HondaSpecpage.shtml sounds like an 82 big red 200

I scanned over that source page, and if I'm getting how the numbers work right, closest I could find was 83 200E. Since it's lining up with the 200 series Big read, overall pics would help a lot, also show the rear end area.

84 200es is the only 3 wheeler to have a HUGE rear diff housing with the brake contained in the same housing. The 250es/sx used small diffs, and were suspended. Anyway, 200E was chain drive electric start, has sub trans, 200es was shaft drive electric start with reverse in the sub trans. 82 & 83 200E doesn't have neutral/reverse dash lights, 84 200ES has them.

Also here's a short list (incomplete maybe) of all models with the decompression (not cable driven) lever on the head using our favorite part research site, partzilla.

Honda ATV 1981 ATC200 A Cylinder Head
Honda ATV 1984 TRX200 A Cylinder Head
Honda ATV 1985 ATC200M A Cylinder Head
Honda ATV 1984 ATC200M A Cylinder Head
Honda ATV 1982 ATC200E A Cylinder Head
Honda ATV 1981 ATC185S A Cylinder Head
Honda ATV 1980 ATC185 A Cylinder Head
Honda ATV 1983 ATC200E A - BIG RED Cylinder Head
Honda ATV 1984 ATC200ES A - BIG RED Cylinder Head

Thanks for the follow up, yep the 84 200M engine number is closer to yours than the 83 200E.

Here's the page for reference
http://www.3wheelerworld.com/oldsite/1984HondaSpecpage.shtml

And the data I'm basing it on:

Engine number TB05E-5300004~

vs your engine: TB05E-5825917

I wonder if that 8 is actually a 3?

I'll recheck VIN and let you know

Has a china carb leaks needle valve won't seat and shut off fuel plus pilot was plugged. Looking for rebuildable OEM carb meanwhile since I can't change out the needle vale seat I'll buy another and use it to get her running.

It has a manual decomp. When checking valves should I move the decomp lever or leave closed?

What exactly are you checking on the valves?

If I recall correctly, the decompression lever opens the exhaust valve a little. Assuming you're checking the valve clearance, you'd want to lever in it's normal spot for running.

Also, the number I was referencing was the engine number, but I think the number would be in the VIN as well if it's a number matching engine to the frame.
