Virginia Governor (D) committed a faux pas that he had no idea would cost him dearly 30 something years later

I LMFAO when I read about this today. In 5 more years not even Gandhi would be able to survive the social media monster.
As interesting a topic as this is, I'd rather read about how the people who represent the poor and oppressed minority community managed to get to the financial status they're at today. Start with Al Sharpton, Maxine Waters and Jesse Jackson and the suffering they've endured as they struggled to get ahead.
Full disclosure; once on Halloween I dressed as a pirate, so I'm sorry if anyone's great, great, great grand parents were harmed by pirates and I'm even sorrier if I stole someone's pirate culture identity.

Alinsky's Rules for Radicals #4:
4. “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules.
It's about time Conservatives started using the same tactics as the socialists use against them.
Here's all the rules:
1. “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.” Power is derived from 2 main sources – money and people. “Have-Nots” must build power from flesh and blood.
2. “Never go outside the expertise of your people.” It results in confusion, fear and retreat. Feeling secure adds to the backbone of anyone.
3. “Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy.” Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty.
4. “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules.
5. “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.
6. “A good tactic is one your people enjoy.” They’ll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. They’re doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones.
7. “A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.” Don’t become old news.
8. “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.” Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new.
9. “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.” Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist.
10. "The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition." It is this unceasing pressure that results in the reactions from the opposition that are essential for the success of the campaign.
11. “If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive.” Violence from the other side can win the public to your side because the public sympathizes with the underdog.
12. “The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.” Never let the enemy score points because you’re caught without a solution to the problem.
13. “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.
Recognize any of those rules being used in all the attacks on Trump?

Not politician, but this was a big thing a few days ago:
https://hotair.com/archives/2019/01/31/phoenix-man-offended-historic-image-coal-miners-calls-blackface/
A patron claimed the picture was #Triggering because, even though no one disputes the picture is exactly what it is claimed to be (miners just coming off of work), one could misinterpret it and then take offense over one's own stupid misinterpretation.
This is now a controversy in today's world. People really want this bar to take down this photo because ignorant people could intentionally misinterpret something so that they can be offended.
BOLD: Like there's not already plenty of that to go around........

Well I love to see a self righteous hypocrite go down in flames
it's funny how these people were hollering #metoo and then it comes out that some of these most vocal were doing the actual raping and assaulting themselves
Then they holler 'racist' and it turns out they're all wannabe klansmen and fair weather liberals
And the people shouting for the resignation of others are soon asked to resign themselves for same behaviour
People will vote for them anyway
If my arrows keeping turning around mid flight and coming back to hit me in the chest, I'd stop firing arrows for awhile until I figured things out.
I am deeply troubled by this social witch-hunt where the PC missteps of someone deep in their past can get them fired, ostracized, their awards taken away, contracts nullified, etc today. These aren't things like rape, murder, or pedophilia, kidnapping, assault.... These are things that hurt some people's feels and hurt feelings are now worth destroying lives for? I don't think so.

Waiting days to say that he is not one of the people pictured is the logical thing to do. Northam held a presser yesterday but forgets to add the claim 'not me in the picture'... This is an explanation of why we like the nasty
"Nastiness just makes a bigger impact on our brains. And that is due to the brain's "negativity bias": Your brain is simply built with a greater sensitivity to unpleasant news. ... The brain, Cacioppo demonstrated, reacts more strongly to stimuli it deems negative. There is a greater surge in electrical activity"

Not you, not me, not anybody! The way I see this thing play out if allowed to evolve (hang on, gotta put my tinfoil hat on) is that future generations will allow the rules to be made by some sort of super computer that has been programed by a group of pansexual, light brown skinned (both black or white will likely be considered too extreme at some point) people who have never worked a day in their lives, had a physical relationship, a fist fight, skipped a meal, helped a stranger, needed help from a stranger, or had to put down a pet, or kill something for food.
No one will know who exactly programed "The Leader" but it will be free of a past and its rules will be beyond reproach as it will not pick sides, it will only tell us which side is right and to disagree would be met with an insurmountable barrage of ridicule and hate from the rest of the politically correct society that craves nothing more than the acceptance of the masses and as much (perceived) free sh*t as it can get it's hands on.
Sound far fetched? It's already in use, just not in North America, but the cameras and servers are in place here and our phones are constantly tracking us, all that's missing is someone to plug in the software and start making the rules.

OK it's exactly what I had assumed.
Just another reason to be embarrassed about what passes for American politics anymore. You guys are obviously really up on this stuff and Chop especially, you have such a grasp and a means to explain these things to others. I really do feel being current on modern American politics is most comparable to being current on the most recent TV series, because I think it's all a farce. No offense to you all who follow this stuff, I'm the more uncommon person for not being in the loop with these things. I'm not trying to insult anyone or anything like that, but the political system of my country for the most part seems beneath me. It is very difficult to find the truth in so many situations we're all supposed to consider, my mind just doesn't have the capacity for that amount of concern. I believe what I hold in my hands and see with my eyes. I am a rational, honest, good person. Politicians are career liars, bad people in many cases. I watched something recently explaining the specific kind of psyche a career in politics attracts from a very young age, starting in childhood with class presidents and such. These people are not good representatives of me. I don't like them, I don't like their system.
Getting somewhere near the point finally, this man is either a coward or a liar. Being that he's a politician, it's likely both, but in this instance specifically, he's either lying or cowering. Either way makes me want to kick him.
"I am deeply sorry for the decision I made to appear as I did in this photo and for the hurt that decision caused then and now."
First of all, he should not be sorry. What he did was not wrong in 1984. There were multiple movies with black face produced in the 70's and 80's. It was a joke, it wasn't inappropriate at that time. People laughed at it. The concept that people can erase history or create a false history is absurd. What has happened actually took place, no need to pretend it didn't to spare yourself tears now. Which is the next problem.
If you're offended, and if your feelings get hurt, deal with it yourself. It's not everyone else's phucking problem. Unfortunately the modern US feels it's appropriate to turn a blind eye to common sense, safety, and the well being of all, over some people's feelings. I wouldn't be the man I am today if my feelings were never hurt. How do you know never to touch a hot stove if you've never been burned? If this man just being himself in 1984 is so offensive to him and everyone else today, people have it way too easy. Which they do.
Going back to he's lying or cowering... I feel he's most likely lying about how "sorry" he is for doing what he did in 1984. If he truly feels bad about what he did in his heart of hearts, he should lose his job. Not that I find a government position to be held as anything to covet personally, but it's obviously important to this guy. He should lose his job in my opinion because he's out of touch with reality. If he truly feels sorrow for what he did, in my opinion he is very much unfit to lead other people. So good riddance. I truly believe he is sorry, but sorry he's going to get a pay cut and bomb out of politics, that's what he's sorry about. He doesn't have to pretend he's sorry, he's sorry alright. Just likely not sorry he had some fun back in the 80's. I feel it's likely he's just cowering and kowtowing, becoming a victim of his own politics. That's a sad person. Politicians are spineless, they're mollusks. They usually bend whatever way is best for them.
One thing about this man though, he is definitely dedicated to his politics. He knows the repercussions of pictures like these and he put his politics in front of his own career. That is a level of commitment to a cause which is uncommon in politicians.
I realize this post is mostly filler, we're talking politics so... It's all fake bee ess anyways to attract attention. I figured I'd play this time and it wasn't worth it, lol! It is disappointing to see my country act the way they do. I used to be modest but I don't care anymore, I'm smarter than most people. I have an uncanny eye for bullshit and a very low tolerance for stupidity. Expending brain storage and wasting thought processes on this charade just reminded me why I don't even look at stuff like this, haha! It's absurd. I've really grown accustomed to having a slightly more private lifestyle over the last couple years and I hope to immerse myself into obscurity more. These things are all fake, all of it. All of the crap on the TV and radio, the big signs in your face in every public place, disgusting fake plastic materialistic entitled people. I'm amazed at how concerned people are about the dumbest and smallest things these days.
I think back to when a hiccup could ruin my week and I was consumed with world issues and backlogged with worry. I had to learn to worry about what's in my line of sight and very little else. I don't have a choice, it's for my own health. I wouldn't have slowed things to a crawl and pulled back from society the way I have if I had been able to continue being a robot. Being in this position has shown me how much concern and worry the average American carries with them on a daily basis, far too much worry. People get worked up about next to nothing. It snowballs and it ages people. I'm like the bird in the cage the miners take in with them to check the air quality, I'm the litmus test for bullshit. I've such a low tolerance for it that it makes me sick even in small doses, so I have to steer clear. Just because you can stand it doesn't mean that it's any good for you. I know Scooter is always looking for a date and time for the beginning of the revolution. I don't know what to tell you buddy, but that's when I'll get political again, when it matters.
American politics died with John Fitzgerald Kennedy. This country is bought and paid for and politics is literally a TV show. This post is a big steaming turd of tangled thoughts and words which hardly correlate with one another, perfect in a thread about politics.

Yeah I stopped voting after 2008. I felt like a fool. I felt like participating in this poor excuse for representation was condoning all the fraud and lies so I walked away from the polls. I was tired of voting against someone rather than for someone since 1992 anyway. Truth is, I wouldn't have voted FOR any of them so why should I have to choose between any of them?
Just because you can stand it doesn't mean that it's any good for you. I know Scooter is always looking for a date and time for the beginning of the revolution....
True. I have some buddies that text me links to the stuff they know I would appreciate, which is how I found out about this gem of a story.... The Left ALWAYS eats it's own. Hold on there Baba Looey! I don't believe I've ever advocated for revolution, I have however acknowledged(as have several others here) that may be what it comes to eventually. Big difference between the two. ;)Those who want and are pushing for revolt are the leftists, all you have to do is check out one of their "peaceful protests". Physically attacking counter-protestors, destroying property, etc.
How far will it (can it? should it?) go before someone has had enough? I won't be the one starting it, but if it ever did go down that road, I would protect my family and what's mine. Does that make me the bad guy?
I've asked multiple times in these threads for a "solution" not revolution, but no one, not even myself has one. Why? Because the American populace doesn't have the attention span to stay focused long enough to see a plan thru. Fer facks sake, most Americans can't even tell that all of their "reality TV" shows are completely 100% fake, made up bullsh!t.
Idependants/Conservatives have spent decades "taking the high road" when it comes to accusations, attacks, and outright lies by leftists, progressives, socialists and communists. "It won't do any good, don't waste your time" "You'll never change anything" and the best of all "It doesn't affect me, why should I care".
It does affect everybody, how much we pay for the necessities of life, how much we pay in taxes, how much we pay for healthcare and other insurance all based on the premise that the middle class should provide for the lower class, many of whom are to f'n lazy to get of their azz and provide for themselves.
It's faaaar easier to claim something doesn't affect you all while taking money out of your pocket to pay for it, than it is to actually take the time to do something about it.
Voter fraud is starting to get some exposure, about f'n time! Guess which party is guilty? The Democrats/leftists/progressives. I can't remember ever hearing of a right wing voter fraud case that actually held water, it's always the dems. It used to be the old "Oh, one of our election judges *cough* forgot some ballots in the trunk of their car" *cough* F'n seriously? That's how that d-bag Al Franken (dem) won. Guess what? The overseer for the elections at the state level is the secretary of state, and ours is a, wait for it, Democrat, who found "no evidence of wrong doing"
You know what the biggest problem is? Finding candidates who actually want to stand up for the people. But trying to get elected costs tons of money and you need to have name recognition.
Sh!t, if me, Fabs and 'chop ran for office we wouldn't see eye to eye on everything and we'd never have a chance outside of 3WW. :wondering:lol::welcome:
The next problem is even if we could find people who had no deep state leash attached to them, there will never be a candidate who will appeal to all of a persons concerns, therefore the "The lesser of two evils" argument is invalid. There will always be candidates more "evil" than the others, doesn't matter if there's 2, 5 or 10.
I don't want a civil war/revolution/uprising or what ever you want to call it. I would however like to see some serious change in our political system. The problem is that it won't get turned around in one election cycle. The idea that one man can just show up as President one day and completely fix sh!t in 4 or 8 years is ludicrous.
Trump? The reason he got elected is a symptom of the problem. People are sick of career politicians. He was no more of a politician then me, glamy, Fabs or ironchop, until he ran for President. If Fabs ran for president all of a sudden he would bea "politician" too. Trump is rough, unpolished, uncouth at times? I don't give a sh!t. I don't hang on his every tweet, some are stupid, some are trolling the leftys, but alot of them get out info the public wouldn't see or hear if he wasn't tweeting. The MSM sure as fack won't do it. Rather telling that people criticize Trump for his tweets, but there's never any back lash for other life long politicians when they tweet stupid sh!t, especially on the left.
Politics was bought and paid for long before Kennedy showed up.

I swear I'll do better if you can find it in your heart to forgive me, starting with a switchover to Tequila. Hopefully wearing a sombrero and poncho while riding my donkey around town half crocked won't piss off some other overly sensitive culture.
Be grateful if you don't end up walking the plank.

Oh carp, actually did that too. Used a bikini top as an eye patch and a diving board as a plank. Pool party, plastic cups, no one was injured, but I did get chlorine water up my nose if it makes the haters feel better.

Yeah I can't handle Twatter at all. I really don't care who is twatting what or whether they are career politicians or they are just some average Joe. I can barely stand Facebook but Twatter makes me want to eat a bullet. It's really nothing more than a bathroom wall covered in phrases and words while none of it has any real meaning or value whatsoever except to entertain you while defecating
Tweeting is for children. I tried to follow it. I gave it an honest chance but it was like trying to have a conversation with my daughter and her friends when they were 12....Twatter is for narcissistic women, celebrities who require constant attention, and highschool children. None of which am I interested in hearing anything resembling a thought from.

OMG...so 2008...like 2000-late #oldperson
I hear ya. Our company has a Twitter account and encouraged us all to sign up to follow news that is released across it. I was not entering that realm.
Co-worker told me I only had to "follow" who I wanted. Oh, you mean like you "following" Trump.....you want to follow him?
They responded they "follow" him just to see what stupid stuff he tweets.
You spend your day reading stupid s#!t ?
Isn't that like reading a book full of stupid s#!t that is specifically called "Book of Stupid S#!t"?
Critics agree, "Book of Stupid S#!t" is worthless and has no value whatsoever.

Rape victim: "yeah I saw it"
Friend: "are you going to speak up before the election?"
Rape victim: "No reason to now, but if he becomes Governor, I'm totally outting him as a rapist. I draw the line at Governor."

Supposedly this happened at the 2004 Democratic convention....15 years later is fine time to bring it to light.
Reporters are trying to get Fairfax to agree that Northam is behind this 'hit piece' Justin came close to agreeing that the timing of it could be his boss trying to keep his job.

Wow
From Leftist media darling to media fall guy.
I'll bet it's Trump's fault. Even in 1984 when he was a Democrat, he was spurring on racism in every medical school across the country (sarcasm). I'm sure Rachel Madcow will make the connection somehow. She's really good at stretching truth and straw man arguments

So LT GOV Fairfax forced a BJ even though victim continued to date him for months after the assault
Virginia AG, who is third in line, admitted to dressing up as Kurtis Blow in 1980 when he was 19.
The fourth in line to replace Northam is a Republican so will morals of Democratic party prevail or will Virginia have a GOP governor?

I remember how #metoo blew up and then sputtered out a few months later. The people running that witch hunt were tired of destroying the lives and careers of their allies more than their enemies so they put the dogs back in the cage and went looking for a new cause du jour or victim class to exploit for attention and airtime

Rule #4:
4. “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules.
