Same piston. Many of the 185/200 hondas all used same style pistons a few bores and your at 200. XL xr atc trx...all same pistons

The stock 185s piston runs at 8.0:1 and the 185xl piston being a flat top runs at 9.2:1, I'm curious if anyone has done this change to the 185s and what the results were.

I know, I'm asking if it's a worth while mod, or would a 200 jug and 10.25:1 compression be a better route

That's up to you. if your not porting and throwing in a cam your not gonna see much. decking of the head with porting and a cam will do the same thing with a flat stop stock piston. I took a 660R from 9:1 comp to 14.5 comp doing that. Mix a flowing exhaust with intake and you can get a mosnter....
I like to deck heads due to keeping a light stock cast piston. Decking should be done at a engine builder so they can figure out your squish area.
Want more information email brad from kb5. he build me a 60hp raptor 660 motor, it haul the mail
