Out riding today and my bike developed a chatter in head. For fear of possible valve issues I took it moderatly easy for a bit trying to figure out the cause of the noise. Once I got home I broke out the feeler gauges and check the valve clearance, and pulled the starter a few times with the covers off to make sure all was well. Valvetrain checked out so I closed it up and started the engine still a chatter. Noise seemed to be coming from the pulse generator so popped the cover, the rotor wasnt making contact but it seems like it has some wiggle room up and down on the shaft, I will likely be replacing my advancer springs because they appear week but should there be any washers in place to keep the rotor snug? I noticed one under the rotor before the advancer base. Im just trying to figure out if the new springs should provide enough tension to keep in place.
