Concrete repair

My gutter drain is falling apart! A few heavy loads and the edge broke, I’m pretty sure it’s because there is a section of rebar that is too close to the edge.
I haven’t come up with a good fix. All I can think of is to set anchors in place, but I’m not sure they will won’t break more concrete. Any suggestions would be great!! Thank you

Ps. I had to remove a section, for now, so both ends lay on the edge. Otherwise it would flip up when driven on.

Dang....This had me there. I just figured it out 1/4” steel plate anchored to the side. Unless I hear from someone real soon, I’ll wipe this. Good day to you guys.

Weld a plate to the length of the grate at a 90 degree angle so the one side where the concrete lip has broken sits on the bottom of the lower channel, say a 1/4 inch thick, Shouldn’t be to hard to find a welding shop in your area on google

Saw cut a new wider channel, make multiple passes to “rough out” the new slot. Of course u would have to expand the iron by the same amount, maybe just tack some steel on each face

Thank you both for the good ideas. I ended up getting a plate tonight and I’m working on it now. Should have it cut, ground down and welded tonight.

Actually, she has always done that here for us. . Started young, though not long after, realized it wasn’t a full time job for her.

Our dear friend, built these grates years ago has the same welding shop now for 40 plus years, sold me the plate and is the go to builder in town. He use to baby sit her and her twin brother in the shop. He told me another good story, yesterday.

Anyway, I mentioned To him what I was doing and he said the same thing about welding it on. It is now sturdier than the rest.
Just wanted to run it by you guys, who are as smart as a whip.

Well just after I say that earlier, she couldn’t do it this morning. Our latest project is a real doozy. Had to take the piece into town in hopes of saving it.

That’s grate, guys!

Maybe it’s a good idea to powder coat the plate and exposed rebar. Any ideas on it rusting, they used fiber but it cracked. Time to move?
