Hi there!
I just got my new cobra...installed it... started it...(cool sound hehe..) but the paint on the front end of the exhaust burns away within 5 mins...is this normal?
I have bought 2 so far for 2 different 350x's and they both were burnt off within 5 minutes. I dont think Cobra uses the right paint or something, cause is came off in large layers.

You have to let it burn off and repaint with hi-temp paint. Thats just the way it is.

I second holic's post. I've re-painted the headers on my 350x and the paint still looks great after a few rides.

Yea.... I wasn't too amused with mine on my Go Go Girl 350X. The paint smoked so bad, I thought my bike was on fire! It blistered right up and looked like something out of an Alien movie. Here's some pic's. I haven't taken the time to take the header off and repaint it yet.

they obviously went with the low bidder on their paint! Ive never had a problem with rustoleum hi-temp black.

I have used the rustoleum and krylon barbeque paint, the rustoleum works well but is a very flat black color. I prefer the Krylon because it has a shine and works well. just my opinion.

I have a Cobra for one of my 350X's and it blistered and burned just like 350X'inNY pic. I thought my 350X was on fire too!

Cobra should of know that exhausts get hot! To bad they used a cheap non high temp paint. Someone should complain to them.

The stink they make while burning off the paint is nasty!
