Hello every one I've been part of the group for a long time I've made a couple post when the old set of rules were still in effect. Since I'm still considered a new member and I've got to re familiarize myself with the site if figured I would see if anyone could lead me in the right direction. I've recently acquired a 1985 200x from my brother inlaw. He decided to kind of spruce it up a little and add an after market handle bars and thumb throttle and new piston and rings.
You know all the little goodies anyways when he changed everything he broke the throttle cable and so my search for a new one began. I've looked and looked but cannot seem to find a cable that is a direct replacement for the factory cable I've read about people using a cr85 cable but having issues with fitment. I've also looked on Amazon and Ebay but reading the reviews most of it is hit or miss some work some dont from the same vendors. Can anyone help direct me to a place I can purchase one?
Also please forgive me I'm trying to type this out on a phone 😁 how can I upload a video of my 200x cause I keep getting an error.

Shortline's right. Motion Pro is probably the best aftermarket place to go.

Thanks 350for350 I'm going to try and use it with the after market thumb throttle if not the factory one is going back on.

So my new cable finally arrived thanks again shortline10 and It wont fit the new thumb throttle trailpro♂️ just my luck. Of course the adjuster on the new throttle cable doesn't come off and the cables is a different thread pitch, anyways back to factory it goes. I decided to try a mock up and seems to work good so I decided to try and give new life to an old throttle. I decided to pull it apart clean it up and make sure it's good to go.
Well I've found the thumb as it goes into the housing had some slopes I pulled it apart. The thumb section has some pretty decent wear from 34 years of faithful service. And so I found that there seems to be a plastic bushing for it. My question does anyone know of a replacement for this bushing? Or is it find some plastic pipe and make it work type of deal? Pictures to come.

One last thing when this new cable is put in does the threaded section seat all the way against the tab as I have it here? Never really messed with cable adjustments before so figured I would ask.259610

That’s not the factory 200x throttle assembly , what you have looks like it’s off a utility ATC .

Well to be honest I had no idea jokes on me I guess then. I've tried looking online but there most of the pictures I could find had bad resolution quality so I just assumed it was the factory.

Here's the 35 dollar one he bought to put on but as you can tell the adjuster isnt removable on this cable. I'm not sure what to do with it but I guess I'll figure something out.

(Edit)
This is why my wife thinks I'm an idoit. Is this suppose to go together with this? I'm to tired to think anymore. 259613

Thanks shortline10 sorry for bothering you so much.

The picture shortline showed you is the OEM setup.

I'm confused too because the new cable adjuster appears to be threaded inside as if you are supposed to put the two adjusters together. Have you tried them screwed together to see if the cable length is correct?

And what part of KY are y'all in? (Bowling Green, here)

yes I did try it but it only gave me like an inch of pull on the cable. oh well I didn't hafto pay for it. Im in whitley county roughly 15 miles up I75.
