1983 g.m. fuel vent ?

got a 3 line system = 1 to fuel pump on engine block from the tank ... 1 return from pump to tank and 1 vent from gas tank 2 charcoal filter by radiator. I ordered a new 3 tube sending unit but it came a 2 unit....ugh.. the new tank does not have any pipes for a vent ...will this still work or do I need the vent hooked up ? on a 1983 olds delta 88

gah i wish i could help you out but if i remember right my car has the two line one and it built up pressure in the tank and whooshed when you undid the filler but caused no other problems... I will try to look this afternoon and see what I've got. Yours has the 24 gallon tank?

Not sure what your motivation is, but I changed mine on a 2007 Avalanche due to issues with trying to fill the tank and the only positive result was slightly better gas mileage due to the lighter weight of my wallet after the purchase. Zero improvement to the pump kicking out issue that motivated me to make the change.

Suplier says they will send the correct unit. .. Hopefully but delayed another week prolly. Yes bought a new 24 gallon tank and ordered 3 line sending unit. They sent a 2 pipe unit. Just wondering if it could be used without a vent.
