New guy here with his first post. I just bought a 1979 Honda 110 3 wheeler and have a couple of questions. First, a piece of advice: Don't go shopping for an old 3 wheeler at night, even if the seller says he has a light in his shop. I did that and missed a lot of things. I probably would have still bought it, but would have tried to get a better price. First, a question about tires. The front tire is a 21x12x8 and needs replaced. Will a 22x11.00-8 work? Secondly, it's missing the air filter tube (the piece that goes between the carb and filter box). I found one used tube on Ebay for $43 (but it was off of an "84 year model) and new ones for $120 plus! (Must be made of gold!) Are there any alternatives to buying a new one, i.e., like making one? I ordered a Chinese carb and filter combo from Amazon for $27. Thought I would try it. Has anyone had good luck with these?

Welcome. The 110 originally came with a 22x11x8 all the way around. Be patient on ebay. Should be able to find one for a lot less than what you are seeing. You could get by with a tube from a 70-82 90-110. They are made a little different through the years but all should work. As far as the china carb.....they can be hit or miss. I would just clean the original carb. If you need parts you can purchase a rebuild kit for little money.
Good Luck!

Welcome Pete. I lived in Pretty Prairie for a while. I still know that area fairly well.

you could buy a clamp on filter for short term too till you get the air box hose. Just have to measure the carb size so you know what size to order. Of course, buying name brand like K&N would probably not be too cheap.

For an exact interchange I like to check parts on partzilla.com. Here's the page for the carb to airbox intake tube. Fits 79-82 ATC110
