Hello new to 3 wheeler world and need some advice and maybe pics. So I got my trike on a trade. Runs great needed some work got it good and rideable but not perfect as in the guy before me welded the drive gear on and I should put a new chain on. So when I'm riding and go threw water even a shallow puddle it will throw the chain and sometimes gets jammed. I've been able to fix it on Trail before and ride home. However last time it got jammed a bit good and had to tow it home and cut the welds off. I could just weld it back on but I'd like to make it original or where the sprocket can be removed on Trail with minimal tools. I saw the original kit online with the lock washer and the bracket with 2 wings on it with the 2 bolts that go into the sprocket. I dont see how that could possibly hold it on securely. Maybe the end of my drive is too chewed up? Cant find many pictures online of what I'm looking for. Any help is appreciated will eventually get around to fixing everything on trike.

The splines on that tranny shaft are supposed to go all the way out so the keeper can secure the sprocket .
Either weld the sprocket on or replace the shaft .
