250es Brush cutters / foot plates

Hi Guys.

Been after some brush cutters for a while. Have done a search on here but can only find examples that still rely on using the foot pegs. I really like the idea of having 'flat foot plates' rather than pegs, with possibly tubing around as a brush cutter. Anyone have or seen anything like this?

Ive just came across these on Fleabay but at $500....ouch! Do you think these are genuine for 250es? Recon I could get some knocked up by the local welder for way less if I could give him these pics as a plan.

I'm pretty sure that those aren't a Hondaline accessory if hat's what you're asking. In the description, it says that the seller isn't sure of the brand. It also says that the seller isn't sure if it fits a 250ES or SX. To me, it's not worth the price.

Yeah that’s what I thought. I’ve never seen any of this design on any old catalogues etc so don’t think they are hondaline or even suitable for big red. I still really want to do away with the foot pegs and have some plates fitted as I recon this will be a lot more comfortable. Hopefully can find some example designs to show welder!

hello i know this is a wrong group im new on here lol i have a 1975 avenger bigfoot- looklike it got high n low gear lever- it runs extremely nice execpt it wldnt go in gear? high n low gear lever seem broken and i need a diagram on how to fix that? i dont want to ruin it or anything

Im also sure it is not a hondaline accessory! Well the guy was nice enough to add good quality pics from all angles and measurements, it will be easy to fabricate yourself for a fraction of the cost. I think I am going to build one myself for my 250ES.

Here’s the pic. From all the footplates I have seen Im pretty sure these arnt for a 250es. A quick search does bring a lot of examples of them up though, so definitly wouldn’t be too hard for a welder to fabricate up.
