View Full Version : Question about 200X lugs

When I bought my 200X, the guy threw in a set of 9" aluminum wheels. The wheels fit the bolt pattern but the bolt holes are wider and are plastic lined. I was told that is normal and I all needed was tapered lug nuts. I got some tapered lug nuts but I am finding that the lug bolts are too short and the nuts only thread onto the bolts about 1/2 way before bottoming out on the wheel. Anyone know what hubs I need to switch to? Or do I or even should I replace the lugs with longer lugs? Or is there another solution?

All 200xs were 4x110 bolt pattern. You need hubs off one of the following. anything per below.

Trx250x 87-92
Trx300ex all years
Trx300x all years
Trx400ex all years
Trx400x all years
Trx450r/er all years

The pressed in hub bolts are longer. 200x ones were very short due to no using tapered lug nuts. When used g tapered one you need longer studs.

Thanks for the info. My TRX300ex hubs arrived the other day and I installed them today. Mounted the new Ocelot P336 tires and 9" wheels. Really like the look and the wider stance.

I have the same issue, I just picked up some D.I.D. gold wheels and the wheel studs are too short and I need tapered lug nuts.
Instead of buying hubs (I have a press) Is there a longer wheel stud that can be pressed into the stock 200x hubs?
Also does anyone have a size or part number for tapered metric studs?
I have the same issue on my 85 Big red (wheel spacers factory lugs are too short)
I would prefer to just swap out the wheel studs.

Thanks

Oh crap, is the front hub different 200x vs 250r?
I have an 11inch gold enkei rim but the pattern is bigger than my 200x hub. Crap! That's what I het for not checking.

Options? Different hub or different wheel?
to add another problem my 2 inch spacer wont fit the OE 8 inch wheels.

The front rim you have is 3rd gen 250r. The bolt pattern is smaller than 83-85 200x. It will be cheaper to buy a set of rear hubs like listed above than buying new studs.

Wow, Thank you.
As for the front hub, would a gen 3 250r hub fit my 200x?
or should I look for a different rim?

If I scrap the whole plan, what wheel spacers would fit my 8in factory 200x wheels?

Thanks

You can get an 86-87 200x,85-86 350x or 85-86 250r front hub for your rim.Or get 83-85 200x or 83-84 250r front rim for your hub.

The 200x 8" wheels are unique as the inside diameter of wheel is smaller than all others. Have the outside diameter of the spacers you have machined smaller.

Thanks guy, this is my first rodeo as you can tell.
I have even considered having my factory OE 8in wheels power coated (gold) and sell the gold wheels I have.
Do all the hubs listed in the beginning of this thread give the same increase in Width? or would one give more
than another?

ok,
I opted to buy a new front rim 83/84 gold 250r and a pair of 300ex hubs and 8 flat lug nuts with coned shape washers.
Thanks for all the help.

ATC300r, I wanted to come back to this thread and thank you for your incite and help, I got a new front rim that matched my currant 200x hub and a pair of new 400ex rear hubs along with some cone washers and lug nuts, it all fit together perfect tonight, I am just waiting on my rear tires. Thank you again.
