There is a little splined shaft that comes out through the cover for the recoil assembly (about 5pm location) it had a little white plastic clip on it being retained with a C clip. The plastic piece broke and I can’t find it on any schematics I don’t even know what it does?
Any help??261994

The shaft that it mounts on rotates when you shift gears. When the indicator is in the proper position, it points at the "N" beside the shaft. It rotates away from the "N" when you shift.

That’s the gear indicator. Goes on the little shaft sticking out below the shaft for the shifter. There’s an N and in neutral it should be pointing toward the N.
