what kind of pipe would be the best for a 02' honda recon

there are only a few made for the Recon.
I think "DG" and "Supertrapp"

check www.accwhse.com, and go to the look-up by model type.

i think the DG is actually a "universal" so i would stay away from that.

Cobra offers 3 models, they are OK if you are looking to save a few bucks.

FMF has one too i see, obviously good, but not my preference.

i would go with the supertrapp
