Yep…. and in my experience they don’t fit.

Years back there was somebody going by the name of the biker chick on eBay that sold me one and it looked almost identical to my old one, but it was too long and I couldn’t get the adjustment right. Then I tried somebody else selling them on eBay and ended up with the same long cable.

I’m not sure if there was a difference between the cable used on the shaft and chain drive models, or maybe they were made for the 225’s? You need to cross reference the part numbers to know for sure.

In the end I had to bite the bullet and pay for OEM.

My advice is save yourself the grief and look for a genuine Yamaha cable.
