cant get engine to turn over 83 200x

The top end was tore down and sat in pieces for several years. The piston is down in the bottem end, and I cant get the motor to turn over. ( I'm changing the piston).

How far into the teardown are you? Have you soaked the piston and cylinder with penetrating oil?
Any pics?

The whole top end is apart. Ill try soaking it in oil, and maybe get some pics.

Once you get some penetrating oil in there and let it soak you can get a piece of hardwood and start tapping. This should help even if the piston is at the exact bottom of its stroke by helping the oil to penetrate. It can help to put a wrench on the crank and add some tension while tapping. Just do this gently as you dont want to damage the crank bolt. Just be patient and you'll get it! Any questions or if you make any progress let us know.

thx man I got it, just was doing it wrong
