Hey guys I just picked up a 1985 350x, it's in decent shape but I've been going through it the last couple days wanting to change/add some stuff. First I'm looking to get another set of back rims, would 10x10 DWT A5 rims be a good choice? Second I bought a Mikuni flat slide carb so now I need a new throttle cable, would a 400ex cable work? Thanks for any imput!

I forgot to add in my post, would there be any major difference between getting a set of 10x10 or 10x9 rear rims? I see both for sale and just don't know what would be a better choice.. Thanks!

Now I may be wrong here, but isn't a flat slide carb for two strokes? If so it won't work very well.

I think you can run a flat slide on a 4 stroke, from what I heard it's just a little tuffer to dial in. Do you have any info on people changing to a 400ex carb? I see alot about it but was wondering what the bennifit/difference would be in the 400ex carb vs like a round slide 34mm mikuni?

400ex carburetor has an accelerator pump so better throttle response and easier starting .

Oh okay that makes sense, can you use the stock 350x throttle cable with a 400ex carburetor? I think I might go this route just for the easier starts haha

Yes the stock 350x throttle cable will work on the 400ex carburetor

I agree on the 400EX carb. I'm running one on mine.
