Howdy all! I recently became the proud owner of an 1985 350X!! Having grown up on three wheeler's back in the 80's, you can imagine my surprise when I learned my next door neighbor had a stock 350X sitting in his backyard collecting dust and sun rotting. After a quick offer of $500 and a handshake, I found myself pushing my new toy across the road to my house. It had been sitting for some time and in need of lots of TLC. Apparently he had the top end done by a friend years ago and had some problems. He went on a long ride to break in the new work, and after a short rest, he attempted to restart the trike and it was locked up. He got it home and parked it, and there it sat. Funny thing though, it kicked over just fine when I was looking at it, so not sure what to make of that. I'll be posting some photos from my bore scope inspection for advice shortly. Since it needed so much TLC, and being amazed at some of the restorations I've seen recently, I decided to do a full resto-mod. I have had an endless supply of packages arriving at my doorstep over the last three weeks with more to come. The biggest issue however was the discovery of rust in the lower frame. You can see in the photos it was pretty extensive. It has become one of those scenarios where you start into the repair and it keeps getting more involved. I've spent so much time now repairing the frame that I am committed. Thank God I am almost done and she'll be off to PC soon. Lots of fun to be had once I begin the reassembly. I also decided to have BVC Trikes build me a 4" longer swingarm, excited for that to be done. Looking forward to getting to know the group and learning! Happy trails, Nate

Welcome. I would love to come across a 350x, especially for that price.

Updated pics. Getting close!! Also, does anyone know where I can get a longer rear park brake cable? With the extended swing arm, the one I have is about 3" too short.

Looking good. Not sure about the brake hose source, I'm sure someone will chime in with one.

Most or all of the components are available to build your own cables. When you need something custom, you can do it yourself without much more than some cable cutting pliers and basic soldering equipment.

Try searching 'motorcycle cable parts' to find an online source. If the original ends are good you can possibly reuse them. They just need unsoldered and slid off the old cable.

Looks like you made quick work of getting it going. Here in the Deep South they like to rust when sitting for long periods like that one did.

No, not yet. I plan to try and hit up one of the custom cable places.

Funny thing is this is an Arizona trike. Things don't rust out here, beyond surface rust that is. Maybe it went to the south for a time and made its way back, lol!
