Just picked up a 1981 Honda 110 ATC for $100.00. Got it running and took it for a rip around the yard and it got stuck in gear. I pulled it apart and discovered the screw holding on the "star" to the shift drum had sheared off. I was able to extract the broken screw but noticed i have only 3 pins with one hole empty. Could this explain why i couldnt get it into 4th? I assume it is a 4 speed and i would need 4 pins?

It’s a good possibility . Shows 4 pins in the Schematic .

Cant get it past here. I think maybe the shift Drum or the forks may be buggered up. I suppose a gear could be messed up too.

Are you rotating the transmission while trying to shift it ?
Transmissions don’t like to shift to well unless the motor is running .

Yes i was rolling the main shaft back and forth. Got to be something internal.
