My son found this Alberta whitetail while shed hunting on Mother's Day 2022. Hard to say what it's demise was but it's been out in the elements for 10+ years from what I can tell. It's got normal rodent chews, dry cracks and mold/fungus staining throughout. I'm not doing anything with the damaged face as it's still a dead head after all. I started by bleaching both sides of the rack for a day each side which got rid of 90% of the staining. I then drilled and glued in a twisted wire in the missing part of the beam to give something for the epoxy to grab onto. I ordered 4 oz of JB Weld KwikWood from Amazon (YouTube suggestion fix) and started filling in the damaged areas following the natural curve of the bone. What you see is how it sits without sanding anything yet. More pics to follow.

Nice find, it would make a nice hat rack. It’s rare to find a matching set, let alone with the skull.

Well for better or for worse it's done, I'm happy with the turnout. Got it unofficially scored using the B&C system.....160 3/8" Gross, 157 Net. Nice animal for sure!
