1986 big red starter and exhaust

I have a big red with what i think is a poor starter. Connections are clean, gears arent binding, battery has full voltage . it engages , but barely turns over. is it time to replace? if so, does anyone have experience with the amazon replacements?
Secondly, where does one find a replacement muffler, for a reasonable price?

Have you checked the brushes in the starter? And there is a guy on Facebook selling SS oem copy’s that look top notch for around 320 I think
