ok i just bought this bike. i heard it was a elsinore. but it says cr an the bike. dont know much about the bike or a anything this age considering im only 16.

well it needs a bunch of stuff i wanna try to keep it all original.

it has good spark and compression but it wont start when i kick it over. the back tire was taken off because it had a long wierd regular threaded bolt throuhgt it and i dont wanna screw it up and more. n it doesnt have a clutch cable.and with no chain or sproket even on i cant kick it over in any gear only neutral i thought that was wierd.
but i wanna know starting tips for a bike this age and the rear shocks are blown and if i can fix them .

i have much more to post thanx alot guys

Drain the gas, clean the petcock, replace fuel line and carb venthose, replace sparkplug(because it may have spark, just not enough to fire. ;) ), clean the carb., and clean out your tank and fill with fresh fuel. Oh yeah, put new oil in also.

OK THE GAS TANK WAS VERY CLEAN AS IS SO I DIDNT HAVE TO DO MUCH THERE. THE HOSE I CLEANED THE CARB I CLEANED ALSO DIDNT HAVE TO DO MUCH THERE. CLEANED THE PET COCK THE WAS NASTY. THERE ARE NO VENT HOSES ON THE CARB NOW SO I DIDNT DO ANY THING WITH THAT YET. I DIDNT PUT OIL IN YET BUT I PUT FRESH GAS MIXED AT 30:1 OR 25:1 I FORGOT IT WAS MIXED A WHILE AGO. IM GETTING GREAT SPARK. ITS DOESNT HAVE THE RIGHT KICK STARTER SO IM NOT GETTIG GOOD LEVERAGE SO I WAS PUSH STARTING IT..... IT ATTEMPTS THEN GOES PUHHH. SO I DONT KNOW IM GONNA CONTINUE TO CLEAN THINGS BUT I WAS WONDERING IF NOT ENOUGH COMPRESSION IS MY PROBLEM, (I CAN PUSH IT USING LITTLE FORCE IN ANY GEAR AND IT WILL TURN OVER).

IF ANY1 KNOWS AN ENGINE THAT WILL FIT OR HAS AN ORIGINAL THAT WOULD BE GREAT

I am rebuilding a 72 cr250 elsinore and there are no parts anywhere so I have to custom make most of the stuff
