rough running trike

I have recently purchased a 85 250r honda. It has developed a mid to upper range problem. When you hit mid to upper range it flutters and sounds like it does when you hold a 2 stroke wide open. I have checked pipe for dents,and checked the reeds and cage for cracks or damage, but didn't seem to find anything. I was looking for some advise on how to fix it or what to check next?

Check your carb next. If you have mods you may have to tweak your carb a little

kinda the same thing happend on my 81'R i found out that the pet cock for the gas had a gasket wornout and was sucking air in when i hi-reved it. so check that thats kinda what it sound like
