ok, i borrowed my buddies torque wrench to tighten the heads on my van motor. i know that it isn't for the 3 wheeler but i am just looking for some help. the torque specs call for 89 ft pounds. the wrench has inch pounds on it. the number may not be right ( i am beat ) but what i am trying to figure out is how to convert the ft pounds to inch pounds.

thanks

To answer your question, To convert inch pounds to foot pounds you just multiply by 12. But GreenLightening is right. You need a bigger wrench.

yeah, I figure you would need a 12816 in/lb torque wrench if thats what you have. 1 ft/lb=144 in/lb x 89 = 12816 in/lb. You can get a cheapie beam type for around $15 that goes to like 120 ft/lb I believe.

i dont think you math is right bud

89ft/lb is 1068in/lb when the factor of 12 is used and thats what the book that came with my TQ Wrech said its in Nm and In/lb's

Wait....I gave it some thought and figured 144in = 12ft. hmmm....youre right. 1 ft/lb= 12 in lb. not 144.
