i was just wondering if you could go into a Yamaha dealership and ask them to order in a 2001 raptor, i wants ti know if they are still available, because i have limited funds to buy one( $7000 Cdn.) id say if they are still available that they would be alot cheaper than the 04'

I dont think its possible, brand new is still brand new. How exactly would you order a brand new 01 when its now 04? I have a 01 raptor and have never had a problem with the tranny. Other then its a yamaha trans, and I have never been a big fan of the yamaha bang shifters.

You might get lucky but it'll be easier to find a used one.
You might be able to get a 03 though.

i made a tripto the yamaha dealership in St.Johns NF today ( i live 4 hours away from there) and i checked out a couple quads, i got one of the Raptors ordered,its an 04", i dont care what color it is either, as long as it aint pink or purple, lol haha, im going back in on april 2nd or 3rd to get her

I'm sure you could find a dealer somewhere still sitting on a 01 raptor in a crate.
