My friend wants an 88 or 89 TRX 250R. Nice plastic and no chains threw the motor are a requirement. He'd like to find a nice overall condition quad that has been taken care of. It seems here in MASS for about 3000$ I can find an 88 or 89 with lots of goodies on there and usually extra tires and such.

Just curious how much a nice TRX runs in your area.

I'm trying to sell him on the Z400 because suddenly with the Yamaha and the 450R everyone around here is unloading there Z400's for about 4K.

I'm up here in northern NY, they run for about that., usually more expensive because everyone loves them up here..., once in awhile theres a good deal, but usually once one is for sale, its gone the next day

I'm thinking that there may be quite a few up for sale in the next years. With all the 4 strokes coming around I think lots of people will make the switch. It's amazing that they have been competeitive for so long.

yeah man, i'm with you on that.,, you can go down the roads here and look at all the 2 strokes for sale.,, everyone switching to thumpers., but theres still the people up here that love the pingers and are snatching them up as soon as possible.., and the people who never had the chance to have them and now are getting a chance becuase there cheaper.., i just watched my neigbor sell off his TRX R, and some suzuki thing (not sure, LOL) because he got the TRX450R., its a shame, but i'm sure there will be pingers around just as long as they arent being banned or whatever you wanna call it..., I know i will stay away from 4 strokes as much as possible.

Nice ones around here go for $2800-$3500. If you ever find an 89 TRX snatch it up! Not very many out there.

P.s.

Dirtcrasher Would an 86-87 200X rear brake assembly work on the 83-85 models? If so,i can hook you up!

A friend of mine has an 88 for sale rite now.He will take $4,000 for it.It has a fresh rebuild on the motor, durablue 2+2,lsr dual row carrier,+3 tommy boy a-arms,works triples with rezzys, fresh rebuild on rear shock,
fmf fatty pipe with shorty silencer, renthal bars, maier plastics with nacs grafics, tons of polished parts, and the list goes on and on.can get pics if your intrested.

But to answer your ??,you can't find a good trx around here for less than $2,500 and they go up to $10,000 for the super highly moded ones.I have seen a lot of junk ones with over $3,000 price tags.

My friend just bought an 89 for $3700 in Pittsburgh area. It is sweet, nice plastic, great shape.

I thought it was a little pricey, but it is an awesome ride.

Yeah, about $3000-$4000 for a nice stock or slightly modded one. As for those new thumpers, I'd rather buy a 16 year old pinger, and show them what roost is all about! I know I will probably never sell my tri-z's, they will either end up stollen or impounded, or they will kill me. LONG LIVE THE PINGERS!
