Hi
I would like to know if a XR200 motor will fit in a 200X frame...
How tough would it be to put that in a 200X?
What will I have to do?

Thanks

I'm not sure, but I don't think it will work. The crankcases on the XR are probably smaller to fit the dirtbike frame and wider for the X's frame.

ok it depends on what year XR200 you are talking about. I had an 87 bike, that the motor was the exact same as my 200X. I was goign to throw it in my X, BUT the Kickstarter kicks backwards instead of forwards. They have more power, and a 6 speed Tans. I ended up just using the top end on my bike. I Suggest if you have the materials, you do the same.

The XR's I found are '87 and '88s...so i guess they would fit... :-D if what Tyler said is true, I'll have more chances to do it... 8)

The Xr200 was basically the same motor since its inception. There was a 200r that was different (And I'm not sure if it would be a direct boltin, believe the xr200r was 85 only), but the 200 is the same motor be it the last year they made them (02 or 03 i think) or 83.

Example...

My dad had a 83 xl 200 dualsport. My first 200x we got had a trashed motor, and we simply bolted in the xl200 motor (harness and all). This was my first clutched bike (had no brakes or first gear either hehe), and it never gave a single problem.
