I think he will do ok. I also think the compatition has stepped up a bit to so I can't wait till next year. Reed & Stewarts contracts are up too so we will see what they do too.

i think you may be all doubting suzuki a little too much. the new rm250 got transworld motocross's 250cc two stroke shootout winner. so they must be doing something right. i havent heard about their new rmz450? i believe thats what its called. and also a bike is pretty much just a bike. a talented rider on a stock 250cc bike could smoke a not so great rider on a modded bike. i think he will have a decent chance at the races. cuz hes got talent. but i think he shiould have never left kawasaki. im not his biggest fan though

Wont experience and skill matter more than the bike? If you got the skills you can win races with wats put in front of you

Thats especially true when it comes to pro racing. About the only thing their bikes have in common with those at your dealer is some cosmetics for identification purposes, so arguing "what would win" based on magazine shootouts of bikes your dealer sells in a sport that is 90% skill anyways is ridiculous.

I think he will feel pretty comfortable on the new suzuki 450. Looks alot like his current 450 don't you think.

Suzuki also made a good bike when McGrath switched over and look what happened to him. :(

Maybe RC will pull it off but I just can't see him on a canary yellow bike - no offense to my fellow zuki lovers :D

well first of all i think he mad a huge mistake, secondly the rm250 did win for transworld but for dirtrider the yz250 but in both mags the crf450 won and thats what he has been racing this year. the other thing that made me mad was he switched to 4 strokes. i hate the racing 4 strokers, the only reason their becoming so popular is cause 2 strokes polute more but there arnt enough 2 strokes to really mess up the ozone. plus i think its kinda like cheating having a 200cc difference in the 250 class and 125cc difference in the 125 class. but dont fear i think k-dub will blow everyone away next year cause he just is getting better and better every year and since su-suck-ie just sucks and all hell have no really competition exept for reed and maybe bubba. it just really upsets me cause he was like the racing idol and now he switched so hes not in it for the fun like i am hes in it for the money and thats not a true racer

i thought Honda dumped RC that was the story i heard anyway. RC can win on any of the bikes in that class. Skill matters more than anything

yea itll be more competitive now that hes onn a P.O.S. suzuki, i think he shoulda stayed with kawasaki only if he wanted to ride on a 2 stroke bike tho, He shoulda stayed with honda for a 450 if he wants to win, stewart said he was movin up to 250/450 this year,

suzukis are great bikes. they're no lower quality than the rest of the market. you guys really need to look past the color.

Billy Golightly

Windham is an amazing rider and was a trend setter being one of the first guys to race the CRF450R. He's definetly one of my favorite riders and I know he's capable of taking on RC.

i see you dont own a suzuki trike so i dont know how you can say they suck. they were probly perfectly fine for what they're intended for. theyre choice to drop trike production was a business decision they were looking into the future of the market and preparing for it.

he has to by AMA rules you can only get a certain number of points in 125 before they move you to 250.

Bad move for Carmicheal I think because I'm a big honda guy. But I think Ricky has enough tallent to win on the Susucki RMZ 450.

no i dont...but i rode my uncles alt125 for many years. then one day he got a 200s...and we both agree the 200s was ten times better...the alt125 went up for sale very quickly lol. i mean i dont guess they were all that bad....but still i just dont like them.

ha, if anyone just watched the U.S open, that proves suzuki are crap, ricky was 9 seconds ahead of of reed and then his crappy suzuki clutch sliped, he fell, he got back up and was on reeds tail, and then the clutch trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro the bed with like 2 laps too go, i rest my case...lol

Rod

Well, the suzuki is doing fine now. The last two wsx gp's were in canada & ricky spanked everybody. The one last night at mid race he had a 14 second lead over Nick Wey in second & Nicks no slouch. Like him or not but a guy with Ricky's talent could compeat on any bike made.

I watched Ricky race this sunday on TV....I believe it was the Supercross Nationals or something like that....He looked pretty good on the RM....But Suzuki seriously needs to do something with the clutch hub/ assembly, or else i dont think Ricky will be there very long.... I remember reading somewhere that when he was practicing on it, something went wrong with the clutch assembly. He looks great for it being a completely different bike than what he has driven in the past....After his wreck in 1st place on Sunday, his clutch hub sheared off i believe and kept making the motor want to go into neutral...after a few laps of that, he decided to take it to the pits....Reed got 1st and Ricky got 6th.....and to My trike sucks.....speaking of the clutch....Im sure you didnt see the race where the Kawasaki's stator gave out!! i dont remember who it was that was riding it....it wasnt bubba, but it was in the 125 class....All bikes have their problems....

lol.....I dont know about all that G-Man.....Reed is a good rider, but i think ricky will take him.....granite reed may win a few races....Im a Kevin Windham fan myself, along with Clark Stiles (Ive actually rode and talked to him while down in Athens Alabama last summer.) great guy, just needs to quit injuring himself during practice!

I can;t beleive he switched to Yellow. Carmichael is from my home town and ive gone to acouple of his partys, my brother went to highschool with him.

as the home town boyy I have to root for him, you should see the track he has behind the gates of his 6000+ square foot home its nice.

I am not sure if it matters or not on the clutch issue, But during the set up of the bike he had one of the suzuki guys change the clutch out to make it have a different feel to it. From my experience of hill climbing on bikes I perfer my 03 rm250 to my brother in laws kawasaki 250 or the ktm 520 that a buddy has. The rm feels better under you and it's power band is smooth throughout the throttle range. the kawasaki hits hard about a quarter throttle and is a different feel under you totally. I look forward to RC giving a good name to suzuki and maybe driving up the desirability of the rm250. I think that suzuki makes pretty good equipment and I have had fairly good luck with them, as I now own that rm and a 99 suzuki intruder vs1400 that runs good. and is a nice looking bike. Just my 2 cents.......
