I just wanted to let everyone in the area (or anybody who'd come) that we're going to have a big campout and trike (plus some quads) ride in a little over a week.

There's a 8000+ acre sandbar on the Mississippi River near my dad's house that we're going to get on. There will be lots of cooking, fishing, and maybe some hunting...oh yeah, and lots of RIDING.

There's literally miles and miles of sand. Lots of whoops and some drop offs that will make for decent jumps. I'm bringing my 350x and my Tecate if I get it fixed in time. Anyone who wants to go is welcome whether they visit my site or not...I just figured there were some trike guys around here that'd like to get together.

Plus it's not often that we can get access to this sandbar due to the river level. When we went riding it was at 9.5ft. It can get as high as 15ft (at Vicksburg) and still be some good riding.

There are pics of a ride me and my dad went on last Sunday at http://www.3wheeler.org/9-29-02-sandbar/page1.html if you want to see what I'm talking about.

If anyone is interested let me know!

WOW, I grew up not far from the Mississippi in MO and have never seen sand like that. Ever run into any "quicksand"?

I haven't personally...but I don't EVER go to far into the water. I know better than that. That water you can see in the foreground I started to wade into and it started slipping FAST so I got the heck out of there.

Some places you can just tell you don't need to be, but on the whole most of it was pretty firm. The only real powdery stuff was on the slopes of hills like you see in that pic.

I'd be there if someone could just donate me a motor for my X.

Thanks for inviting all us native 3ww trikers. It's good to see a trike ride so far south, as all 3ww rides have been way up north. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it due to the short notice and deer season, but have a good time and be safe.

I wish I could have publicized it sooner, but you never know where the river would be. I'd hate to plan ahead 3 mos and have everyone show up expecting a sand ride only to have the river at 30ft. :(

It was a great ride and had a blast. Maybe I will have another or different trike for the next one...........peace
