View Full Version : Easy way to put in driveshaft?

Hello....I just put in a new motor in my 225dx and it is my first time doing it...the motor is in ready to go but I can't get the damn driveshaft to align with the u joints...no room...any tips will be appreciated...Thanks...Jim...

I remember doing this on my big red. Trying to hook up the rearend/axle/axle housing/u joint/spring/to the transmission output all at once so i could bolt it in. What a pain in the arse! I ended up rigging op something that I can't really remember or explain and finally got it with trial and error. I used to have a 225dx for a short while but never messed with the driveshaft but i can see why it would be hard on a yamaha too. Sorry I can't help much but Good Luck!

i did my old 225 dr no problem it all lined up,dr is same as dx just the dr bike has reverse..

take the rear end off, put the shaft in the motor, put the rear end back on again and your ready to go, very simple, takes like 30 min tops
