average around here is about $80,000. If you drive west about 30 minutes its up towards $200,000 but if you drive east of me about 10 minutes its about $40,000 so theres a pretty good selection around here.

Well I live in Nor-Cal . I live in tract housing . (You know where you can high-5 your neighbor out of the bathroom window after pinching a big loaf.) The average priced house around here is 315k I live in a 2k square foot home that lists for 360k . Crazy , just fricken crazy . So I buy this house that cost me an arm and a leg and I get to and from work in a 700$ vehicle . Aint life grand ? LOL

Well I'm looking at homes around the $80,000 or less mark.the thing is anything worth 80 they are asking 150,and any thing worth 150 they want 350.anything they want 80 for is worth 50,and any thing they want 50 for is junk.I would build but want to be moved in by snow fall, and that won't happen.Looks like I'm stuck in this dump for a while longer.Oh yah! ACE I drive a $450 toyota 4x4 with a deck on the back.

... Jeez .... my 3 bedroom, townhouse was $230,000. Houses around me here in Pa. are simply rediculas in asking price - The average around here is $320K and up. I mean ... who the hell has these jobs where they can afford to pay that much?. I make a comfortable living and so does my wife - but really - Where do I get these jobs?.

My parents bought their house in Northern NY for $30,000 in 1972. They put on an addition in the 1980s and now the house is about $500,000. A much smaller, more plain jane house down the street just appraised for $400,000.

We bought a 2 year old 4br 2 1/2 bath 2 car garage colonial in Bel Air, MD for $350k...the East Coast and West Coast prices are retarded. I hope the bubble doesn't burst.

Talk about insane pricing, it doesn't get much crazier than San Diego. I bought a 3Br 2Ba 1010 sq. ft townhome for 142,000 in May 1999. I am selling it Aug. 2004 for 418,000. Moving back to Illinois just so I can keep the cash. If I bought in San Diego I would just be buying something overinflated and not make a profit. Made more money on my house than I did in salary in that time. I was making over 20 bucks/hour. Sick of the congestion, overcrowded and high price of living....but will miss the dunes.

Houses out here can go anywhere from $30K for a trailer out in the woods to over $5 Million for one on the lake 30 minutes from here. We got ours for $180K and it is still going up and up.
