I just caught a glimpse of it on TV a little while ago. Looks like its going to be a killer off road/work truck. Solid axles front and rear, locking diffs, and a standard 12,000# winch. Thats all I caught of it...but Im sure the engines available for it are the same as the 2500 and 3500 series. I cant wait to see a write-up or test of this truck in the coming months. :Bounce

I wanna see it. The only engine options should be the big bad-ass Hemi, or the Cummins. Hell yeah.

I'v read up on this truck a bit...

Fairly beefy axles..not sure exactly what, but they are probably AAM. Probably d44 equivalents. Lockers. Manual tranny (heard about a 6 speed but itll probably be a nv3500 and some slushbox). 4.10 or 4.55 gears, depending on the tire choice which is 33/35's which I think a 17 inch wheel is standard with either. Hemi 5.7 is the standard (and only I believe) powerplant.

When, and if, it comes out, it won't be as glorious as the prototype. We will still see the truck, but probably in the form its flaunted as currently, it will cost a pretty penny. I'm willing to bet they will come with the 4.7 and the old 360 as an upgrade, with the hemi being an option. I don't know about a locker in the front, but it will have to be selectable...And quite possibly another option.

Either way, it looks like its gonna be a good truck and its just another step in the ongoing truck war.

Expect GM and Ford to have some similar vehicles in the future. Until GM offers the exact truck I want, my 3/4 ton is, and probably always will be the ultimate truck/moneypit in my eyes ;)

I would think the axles would be a little stronger than a D44....probably a D60 up front and a D70 out back, because its a 3/4 and 1 ton truck. Stock tires are going to be 33" and the Hemi will be the only available powerplant for the first year (hopefully a Cummins next go-around). The lockers are selectable, and the price starts at $42K if I remember correctly.

I was under the impression that from the prototype I saw it was a halfton...More like a purpose built offroader, in the likes of the srt10.

Theres an article on it in the new issue of four wheeler and on four wheeler's website.

Thats what it is.
Is get thick skid plates under it, a front mounted wrench, seletacble locker front and back I believe, electronic sway bar disconnect. It's a trail rig.
Yes the only engine is the 5.7 hemi. It's a trail rig so that'll be the only engine avaible I would bet. The chassis is a 3/4, so it's get big diff front and rear.

i saw a thing on TV about 6 months ago and they said it came with a 4 cylinder cummins turbo diesel, not a hemi. i could be worng though, or maybe what i saw was wrong. the info on prototypes is always sketchy

Sorry to drag up such an old thread, but I finally picked up a Power Wagon after drooling over them for the last 6 years. A 2007 with 28,000 miles on it.

Any other 3ww members with a Power Wagon? Anything I should keep an eye on, something specific prone to failure?

So far I LOVE this truck... can't wait to plan a remote camping trip somewhere and really put it to use!

The best truck I ever owned was my 96'. It was a extended cab long box 1/2 ton that thought it was a 1 ton. Never did nothin' to it. And hauled everything with it. Drove it all over the U.S. rodeoing. I loved my Dodge. Have a Chevy now (had a 96' Chevy too), now I'm really missin' my Dodge, lol.

I've got an 04 2500 and just hit 105K, bought it five years ago with 30K and haven't had a single problem with it just keep the oil changed and don't pass a gas station...

My first truck was a 75' PowerWagon...318, school bus yellow, with a three in the tree. even with the 318 it was a beast...slow but would pull and dig through just about anything i could throw at it. wish i still had it

Which is exactly why I drooled over the Power Wagon for so many years :)

My 97 Ram 1500 Sport, 318, is a good truck, but the 318 is not nearly enough motor for the truck, it'd probably get better gas milage with a larger motor.

i got 2011 outdoorsman in nov 2010 with 7 miles on it & now shes got 15,000 miles running gr8 but there gonna put a new rearend in cuz i guess there not getting lubed like they should (recall) i can get 20mpg if i drive 55,56,57 but anything over that & she really drops the hemi shuts down two cylenders & kicks into economy mode when ya drive nice or go down hill... iv never had a new truck so im pretty proud of her oh ya she has side airbags, auto 6pk window, satalite radio, 17in. rims, manual or auto shift. but i dont have the side box in the fenders (wish i did)

my 2000 ram with a 360 in it for about 13ish normal, maybe 16/17 on highway. it was all stock. my 97 1500 was lifted 6" 35" tires, big k&n intake. i got 10ish by the time it needed an oil change, id get 11 normal on the nose in town at all the redlight, if i drove the truck nothing over 50 an some open roads i got 14mpg once.

so yeah the 360 motor did alot better but trucks were not a 100% match. both were auto.

Here's a pic of my Power Wagon loaded up for our 3wheelerworld.com meet last weekend. Unfortunately I didn't have either of my 250R's ready for this meet, so I was on my Banshee :(

You just about need a cdl to drive the 2011 dodge 3500 dually with the cummings, 800ft lbs tq, pulls 30,000 lbs! and its clean enough for to meet emission requirements without the exhaust fluid that is creating so many problems.

Just because it has front and rear diff lockers, doesn't mean you can't get stuck... Especially if you're towing something... :/
