I know this has been covered before but I can't stand the misuse of the word mint. Here's an example:

Now it's a great machine and If I had the money I would go there and see what we could do but it's not MINT!!! It's about 10min from my house, I might contact the guy to see it anyway. The ATK fork kit sound interesting.

Why is the rear grab rail on upsidedown?
It gives you an extra 4-5 inches when lifting into a tall truck/trailer.

Why is the rear grab rail on upsidedown?
That's the way all of the "old school" racers used to run their "rare" grab bars on their "mint" bikes. Sorry Chainsaw, but it had to be said. :D

i might be one of the a-holes you are talking about, but what about that 250R or meatbox's tecate isn't mint? i'm not being mean or attacking you, so dont take it the worng way. its hard to express tone over the computer. I jus want to know the meaning of mint. i know where it derived from, ie coins directly form the mint. but why cant a restored trike be mint? sorry if im a thorn in your sides.

sorry if im a thorn in your sides.
Don't be sorry, this make good conversation. Mint would not have the following items on it:
It has many big ticket items on it, including a Work Performance Shock, a Dura Blue Axle, and an ATK Fork Kit. The motor is very strong and reliable. The Ported and Polished PSI Pipe and Rickter Silencer were professionally built, and the 520 DID O-ring Chain, chain slider and roller are new. The sprockets are in good condition and it has a twist throttle. The Dunlop rear tires and axle are also new.
If it was "mint" it would only be sporting honda parts and it would be as if it came off the assembly line.

ohhh ic what your saying, i take the term "mint" as meaning close to perfect condition with no damage or excess wear. That bike is well worth the 10 min trip to look at, worth buying indeed. And I would take "original" as sporting all honda items but I guess original doesnt have to mean its mint.

New is still in the crate, never assembled. Or Assembled but never ran or ridden.
What I call mint is like that 200x glass picked up, Totally OEM in excellent condition. No imperfections. Very little use.
Excellent condition would be what I call a 250R in nice shape but with a few aftermarket non original parts. Very few imperfections, everything operates to 100%
Good condidtion is something with a few non-original parts and a few imperfections that can be easily spotted. Faded plastic, paint wear around the frame, floppy clutch lever. Easily rideable but has a few blemishes and maybe 1-2 minor operating imperfections (Chain guide is worn off, chain/sprockets loose. ect)
Fair condition is what I would classify as rideable but needs work. Parts may be damaged, missing, or un-operable. IE, the rear caliper has a leaky seal and will not hold pressure. Loose wheelbearings, ripped seat, cracked fenders. Minor oil leaks.
Thats how I classify things :D

I would say that mint is a like new show quality trike where original would have only Honda parts and no aftermarket stuff. The trike in the aucton has visible wear on the engine case, levers, grips, forkboots, ect. Sure the trike is in excellent condition but not "mint" in my book.
