Sorry, just thought it was funny. I know this doesn't help either but what about fixing it up and selling it for the trike fund?

Take out the rear diff/gearbox/tranny/whateveryou call it, and put in a variable clutch. Comet makes clutches for those sized engines(not centrifugal clutches). Since the engine is so far from the rear axle(unless it is rear mounted), then you will have to do some fabricating. It would be better off if you made it a solid rear axle, because like I said above, the gearbox is usually integrated into the differential and is belt driven(unless it has a rear mounted engine and is chain driven, then you are in luck).

Yeah i have a 1987 Murray lawnmower that does 28 mph, i did it just by regearing the pullies you don't lose your pulling power that way. I did this so i can haul my '93 Blaster back and forth from my buddies house. The Murray does great wheelies. The V8 in a lawnmower sounds like fun i might have to try that.

That reminds me, I have an old John Deer sitting out at my grandpa's house. I was going to make it into a racer, so maybe I should get to it! Or maybe I'll lift it up 2 feet and put some boggers on it

my friend "changed his mind" and now says he wants the tranny for his nice mower that was custom painted as a pet project for a car painter. because that only has a single speed i dont care though i'll take any speed as long as i can make it go and make it go fast. watching that video makes me want to get one of those little tiny ones though. because the MTD i want is a monster i swear if it was running it would have to be about 500 pounds. i wonder what all they've done to those things

Hey, I thought you lawn jockeys would enjoy this. It's Scott Evans
world fastest racing lawn mower. 2.93 Seconds In 150 Feet! (Aprox 80 MPH)

Those little things are badarse for sure, love the way they slide around like that. I've seen one Indoor Lawnmower Race abd it was pretty fun to watch, they had a neat little track set up too. What brand are the short wide ones that they were racing in the vid?
