What is the difference between an xr100R and an XR100

Im going to be rebuilding my friends honda 100 dirt bike but i need to know if its a 100 or a 100R. I was wondering if someone can tell me.

i believe its the year. they are the same just diffrent seat covers.

The main difference is that the R has a pro-link mono shock rear suspension and the reagular (and older) xr has the dual rear suspension. Just about all of the engine parts are the same.
