250sx price question??

There is a 85 sx near me and it looks to be in good shape. I am planning on looking at it thursday id it doesnt sell first and offering 500 bucks.

does 500 bucks sound good for a sx250 that just needs tires??

what should I look for if I decide to buy....

If you are looking at an SX pay close attention to the rear end (axle/ring/pinion). Its probably the costliest part. SX's dont have drive chains, they have what amounts to a spool..... check the oil in the rear end, listen for noise, try looking in the inspection hole and see what the tooth pattern looks like. Other than that its like any other trike, look for bashes, breaks and signs of abuse. If its all there, in good mechanical shape and just needs tires I'd say snap it up before somebody else does ;)
