Nice sled, what kind of pipes are you running? Easy on polaris guys, thats what I ride :x

crank shop pipes. yes, polaris does make a very competitive climing sled. and now they are starting to lighten them up too. I had to put a 159'' track reeds and the twins on my sled so that I could wip up on the new vertical escape (polaris's 800 with a 159'' track stock) OH yah and 8'' big wheel kit

I have to jump in...and defend my so called ARTIC CRAP! My 02 ZR 600 has smoked many a sleds including all the 600's (except for the rev). Right now I'm keeping up pretty good with my friends 99 670 ho ski-poop..lol. After I add pipes next year and a couple other add ons, I will have more power than his 670 ho and should be able to beat it pretty easy. One nice thing about ski-poop is that the rotax engine is very dependable and fuel effiencent. The polar-ass gave me a pretty good run. They seem to have a very fast set up. But for power and ride, Arctic cat wins hands down. All manufactures make good sleds, but my zr has lived up to its name and then some. Hopefully I can take that 670 ho next year. That sucker is fast for a stock production sled. It has been clutched and so has my Zr.

Hey I like my Artic cats too. My eltigre might be an '81 but when it runs it runs like a raded ape. But Ski-doo-doos are decent sleds too.

ski-doo-doo's :D Ive never heard that one before. even I have to laugh. anyway I bet you can't keep up with the 99x in a climb. anyway I'm pritty shure mine would smoke your zr 600 My sled will just biotch slap the 99x in a drag race, and mines a straight up climbing sled geared down and everything. :!:

A newer 340 would give my old 82 500 'doo (F/c 503 mind you) a run, if not beat it handily.

if that old thing smokes you than you need to do some clutching and re-gear. also if you have a bald track and the 340 has traction then obviously you'll get smoked.
OH YA zrt800  ;)

01-17-2003, 09:58 PM
I had a ski-doo cititation that with a 300 rotax that was awsome, my old artic cat 340 was a alot better built sled, but my 83 moto-ski mirage special is by far the best sled I've ever owned(in terms of proformance, not reliability). Of all the sleds I've owned over my favorite was my artic cat panther, couldnt kill it and it was super reliabile.

Man I could go for a MXZ-REV anyday! if only i had the mula. Yeah I have to admit the cats arent all crap their new sleds are pretty nice, to some extent. My dad used to race his hopped up Panther (kawasaki eng.) back in the late 70's... it had custom suspension and jetting. He also owned an eltigre, MX blizzard, Puma, Ski-roul :D , and I think a couple other skidoos :)

I haven't replied in awhile, but I will now. Yes, your 800 would beat my 600 in a hill climb. I ride trails and lakes, but when it comes to a flat ground side by side, who is faster race, my sled would win. If yours was stock geared and short tracked you could beat me, but I gather you have redone your gearing and have longtracked it for the mountains. You could probably get me off the line and to a certain speed, but my top end would be more due to your gearing. I wish we had the mountains to ride here in southwest michigan, but we don't. Mountain riding looks like a blast. If I was to buy a new sled it would be the F7 or Rev. The F7 is faster, but I heard the Rev has awsome ergonomics. A comfortable ride is important, so I would have to ride both to decide. Enjoy riding that summit on the mountains, cause we don't have crap for snow right now.
