Anyone remember what these crazy things were called???...you know the weird 3-wheelers...the ones with the 1-wheel in the back and 2 in the front. No one believes me around here!!! Anyone have one?

Some commercial lawnmowers are like that...i saw one a while back at the lawnmower shop. (would be nice for a conversion,...hmm).

Other then that, never seen them, and it sounds a little dangerous to me.

accually, that design is MUCH more stable than the traditional 2 wheels in the rear and one in the front.. think about it, and youll understand why it is much safer..

I don't think those were ever in production. Dirtwheels put a quad conversion kit on one of those funky big wheeled dirtbikes ages ago and made an inverted trike. They were less than impressed with the results.

Are you talking about the 'T-rex' thing? I saw one on Mtv 'rides'. Some rapper guy was driving another rapper guy around in one. He said it had like a 1200cc ninja motor or something in it!

Yeah a t-rex, that was on ride with funkmaster flex.

It kind of looks like a bass-ackwards four-stroke TRI-Z.

That is one fugly trike.
I wouldn't mind giving it a spin on the trails, though, if only to see how it handles and to turn some (even more) heads!

I prefer more of a "forward thinking" trike!

you could make a turn at high speed without sliding on that thing.. but that thing is pretty neat

I remember seeing them in the dirt wheels / 3 wheeler mags in the 80's...I think they had a promo stand up at Lebanon Valley Raceway here in NY once back in like '85 or '86 at the trike races...those were the days!!! Not sure if they were ever put into production though - if so u can bet trailprotrailpro ass none rarer than these relics (assuming they exist) 3 for me!

You can in some states and not in others...You just have to find the loop hole in the Law...Then work with your local DMV and the State Law enforcement...I cant remember off the top of my head but I think it has something to do with the rear Axle,,,

Exactly, you cant have a straight axle on anything thats being driven on the road legaly. They are too hard to turn, so its a safty issue. You would have to make some way of putting a differental onto the back possibly from a golf cart or something.

That's what I figured. I ride my ATV's on the road all the time, I don't see where the solid axle really matters. My cousin runs a spool on in his truck as a daily driver. ha ha.

I wonder if it applies in Canada?

I would think so yes. If you need a rear diff then doesnt the Kawi KLT have a rear diff on it, that would be a good trike to start with. I've seen lots of UK bikes with the differential rear, mostly Tri-Z's.

I love that Raptor, if it were mine I'd trash the Swampers and go with lowering shocks, swaybar front and fat street tires and use it as a hooligan bike for purely street.

Actually, that is an older pic of the Raptor if I remember correctly. The guys name is legaleagle and he is a member of Bluetraxx and 3WW.

Since that pic, he has added +3 A-arms, Euro tires (like low profile street tires), and a few other tid-bits

I think a guy would be better off converting a dirtbike in to a trike than a quad plus it would sit higher and you wouldn't be sitting above the axle

it looks like on his web site that he's planning on producing a kit. That'll go great till somebody flips it or hurts them selves in any way and sue's him. I think its a waste of a raptor my self. if i was doing something like that for street i'd custom build my own frame and suspension to suit it.

I am not sure if that site is up to date because in the beginning of 2004 there was a new law that stated you could no longer make any offroad motorcycles street legal and I would assume that, that law would cover that convertion unless I am mistaken?
